Are You a Girlie Girl, Weekend Snacks

We went on a little walk around our neighborhood and Skylar was playing with these beads and crystals.  Don’t worry, she didn’t break anything.  My mom always told me, Look with your Eyes, Not your Hands!

And then we went into a thrift store and she immediately found the jewelry sectionSmart girl.

And she choose pink bracelets, leaving the yellow, orange, and blue behind.

And lately she’s been playing with her hair.  Twirling it and swinging it around.  Prior to a month or so ago, I don’t think she realized she had long blond hair.  And now she can’t stop twirling it.

Watching childhood development and a child’s self-awareness is so fascinating to me.  That’s my psychology background coming into play.

But she’s not only a pink-bracelet loving girlie girl.  She’s also tough.  If she falls down on the playground, she gets right back up.  If she is scared of a new situation, she doesn’t cower away from it.  I am so proud of who she is.  And, I’d be proud of her any way she was.  Girlie, tough, tomboy, a mixture, you name it.

From my last post about selling my Heart Rate Monitor and why, it was interesting to hear if you use a HRM and why or why not.   Lots of thoughts and great opinions.

And also it was nice to know who’s sold things on Ebay or Craigslist and what you’re waiting for if you haven’t.

Dessert: Vegan Peanut Butter Chex Mix, aka “Puppy Chow”
This is a perfect sitting around the house snack/dessert to munch on.  Or bring to a football-game watching party.

Questions
1. Do you consider yourself to be a girlie girl?  Any male readers can obviously skip this one.
I do hair twirl, gravitate toward pink bracelets, pink Chanel bags, and I do like my froo-froo cocktails and cute dishes.   On some things, I am super feminine and girlie.

But I also am tough as nails on other things such as working out, athletic pursuits, and my dedication to my yoga practice.  Both on and off the mat.

And I consider myself to be extremely mentally tough.  I make intentions and set goals and I stick with them.  I am extremely tenacious.   It’s a huge pet peeve of mine when women act like airheads or ditzy on purpose.  I can’t stand that!

When the chips are down, I get down in the trenches and make big things happen.  I don’t sit around and twirl my hair.

So I am a mixture of girlie meets tough.

What are you?

2. Weekend Plans?
I am working and hopefully enjoying the awesome weather we’re having and spending as much time with the family as I can.

3. Weekend Snacks or Foods you like to have or make?
I think most people are more “snacky” on the weekends.  It’s easier when you’re at home to just kind of graze from one thing to the next, snack style.  I like to nibble on everything that I posted.   What about you?  Are you more snacky on weekends when the fridge or cupboard is just steps away?

See you later!
