Recipe FAQs
Beef totchos feature a layer of crispy tater tots topped with seasoned ground beef, cheese, and any nacho toppings you like!
You’ll need frozen tater tots to make this recipe. Cook the tater tots according to package instructions and THEN add the toppings. If you add the toppings and try to cook the dish all together, the tater tots won’t crisp up.
No, this is one recipe that’s best eaten fresh from the oven. Over time the tater tots will become soggy from all the toppings, so I don’t recommend making the dish ahead of time.
Of course! You could use seasoned black beans in place of the ground beef, or use a vegan ground beef substitute that you like.
Yes! You can scale this recipe up as much as you like to feed a larger crowd. If doubling, bake in a 9×13-inch dish and if more than doubling the recipe I recommend breaking out a rimmed sheet pan.
