Challenge: 10 Facts

PinSave

Time for Day 6 of the Challenge – 30 Interesting Facts. However, I am not that interesting pressed for time so am going to stick with 10 facts.

30 Day Challenge Photos with challenges each day

10 Facts

1. I need and crave fresh air.  I don’t care if it’s -40F in Minneapolis or 112F in Phoenix.  I need to be outside, even for 5 minutes, every single day.  This was the view from my neighborhood 15 minutes ago.  65F, breezy, but sunny.

2. I love finding deals on products, clothes, or groceries.  Finding a good deal excites me.

3. Contrary to how it may appear on my blog, I can actually go over a week without chocolate.  And I don’t miss it that much.  And then I will think, oh, I haven’t had chocolate in awhile, and will have some again.  I have an entire Chocolate Recipes Collection in case you can’t go without chocolate.

4. Exactly how it appears on my blog, I cannot go without coffee each day.  I do miss it!  And get caffeine withdrawal headaches.  I did a big Coffee Review Post, recently if you need proof.

5. I eat lateVery late. And go straight to bed.  I don’t subscribe to “Rules”.

6. I used to have my nose pierced in high school and college and it’s not pierced anymore and the now closed up hole looks like a large pore.

7. I floss twice a day, every day.  I go to the dentist every 4 months for cleanings. I’ve never had a cavity.

8. I hate ants.  As in, I practically have a phobia of ants being in my house.  One or two doesn’t bother me but there are never just one or two.  They bring hundred(s) of their horrible friends.

9. I haven’t seen a movie in a movie theater in 5 years.  I was pregnant with Skylar the last time I saw a movie and only went because we had no a/c in our house and I was so terribly sick with morning all day sickness.  I spent the entire time I was at the theater in the bathroom being sick, but at least I was sick and climate-controlled.

10. I cannot sing.  Rephrase: I belt out tunes in the car or from my ipod, but to quote Randy from American Idol, “Dog you are Not Going to Hollywood”.

If you missed my other Challenge Posts, so far there is:

Day 2 – Where I’d like to be in 10 years

Day 26 – What kind of person attracts you

From my earlier post about Skylar’s Birthday, thanks for all the awesome birthday wishes for her!  I have been blown away by the amazing birthday wishes!  Thank you to every one who wished her a Happy Birthday!  I’ve been telling her all day that my blog friends and readers have been wishing her a happy birthday and it’s made her smile.  She totally “gets it” and loves it!

I really enjoyed reading about your memorable birthdays, too, and the great stories and trips down memory lane!

As for store bought vs. homemade bakery items like cakes and cupcakes, glad to know some of you rock the store-bought items, too!

This meal is home made, though.

For anyone who doesn’t “love” coconut.  Not to worry, far from eating a bottle of Hawaiian Tropic or anything.

Questions:

1. What’s been going on in your day today?

I went for a run, got a 20 Minute at home workout in with some yoga moves and core work on my ball.

I went to Target and replenished some essentials.

I have been returning phone calls, paying bills and just slammin ‘n jammin!

2. What are your Interesting Facts?  Any amount you want to share is great! Sharing is caring.  Rattle some off!

  1. Oooo I love hearing fun facts about people. Some of mine… I’ve never had a cup of coffee (and I’m not even a Mormon! I just hate it.), I can open beer bottles with my teeth, and I have hands the size of a small child’s.

  2. your blog keeps eating all my comments! i hope you get this one bc im sick of my shiz getting deleted. to put it succinctly – happy birthday skylar!

  3. High five to #5 and #8 !

I just made that rice last night and had it today, yum!

One fact about me – I am completely the opposite of how I come across, in my blog and in person. ;-)

  4. Happy happy happy birthday Skylar! She’s growing into mini-you, and she’s sooo beautiful!
Today – went to Pilates, babysat, got bored and went to Pilates again. School starts tomorrow, can’t wait.
Random fact – I’m going back to school to get a degree in exercise and nutrition. Seriously. I start in the morning. I’m totes freaking out because I have BAs in English and History but I haven’t taken real science since high school and I wasn’t so good then. I think it’ll be different this time, because I’m doing it by choice and interest rather than by compulsion. Also speaking of high school, it’s entirely ironic that I’m embarking on a career path in exercise and physical activity, because I faled gym in HS.

  5. pssst…. i have my nose pierced (we’re the about the same age). i had it done in my early 20s and wear a modest silver stud; most folks don’t notice it!

thanks for sharing your 10 facts, averie!

  6. Forgot to mention that I’m JUST like you regarding time outdoors. Today I took a walk in a nearby park that was a beautiful Winter Wonderland. It made me feel soooo much better. So much more grounded. I think nature is very healing.

  7. Happy Birthday, Skylar! She’s the same age, almost to the day, as one of my nephews. Awwww!

Today was a bit nutty. First official day of some schedule changes and had a couple of major glitches. I’ll admit, I got upset and overwhelmed. Thank goodness for pranayama. I just did what I could to breathe through the chaos. Things will smooth out soon enough, but the transition has been bumpy. Oh well!

Have a great evening and week in case I don’t comment back again soon.

  8. Hi Averie,

Great article with excellent photos. How couldn’t you just love your little Skylar? So sweet… Oh, by the way, the food photos made me drooooooool very baad!

    Questions:

    1. What’s been going on in your day today?
    – I am going to work a lot, cook, be happy, etc
    2. What are your Interesting Facts?
    – Doing Maths, haha, just kidding.

Thank you very much for sharing these great food and pictures! vorbim luni

    Best regards,

    Maria

  9. Oy vey. Today has been crazy. Crazy. I didn’t stop moving or sit down from 8 am until 6:30 pm. Its only 730 and I am ready for bed. No joke.

Random facts about me – the only makeup I own is a single tube of (probably expired) mascara. I showered twice today, once before dinner just to warm up, but didn’t wash my hair either time. I never eat breakfast. I haven’t been this stressed out for this long since my orals last spring. I’m freaking out.

  10. I…went to school, worked out, worked on hw, and got ready for school. Currently watching the bachelor :D

    Skylar is ADORABLE!!

  11. Love your facts! Some of my facts are:
    1. Also LOVE coffee. Papua New Guinea is my absolute favorite.
    2. Do not have a television. We do watch movies from time to time, but not tv hook up.
    3. I CAN sing! :-) I trained privately for 5 years when I was in college and have done some musical theater and singing for various events whenever I can. I wouldn’t normally post this, but since you said to share whatever…here is a link if you wanna HEAR some of my singing:
    http://www.myspace.com/michelesparrow
The piano song on there is one of my original compositions as well, cause I also studied classical piano from age 4 until college!
    4. I, quite sadly, am allergic to cacao!! :-(

  12. I post/make a fair amount of chocolate too but I can go without…well unless it’s that special time of the month. :-) I take long breaks from it too just to prove I’m not addicted.

I just used some coffee body scrub, I use it because I love the SMELL of coffee.

I love fresh air too, but I prefer not negative degrees. Having dogs always will get me plenty of fresh air!

  13. Love your facts – I am absolutely 100% with you non NEEDING fresh air and sunshine. I love a good bargain too. I think you probably know most everything about me since I do my Fun Facts Friday posts. Let’s see….um….I did have my belly button pierced at one time with a black heart.

  14. I NEED outdoor time too! The heat never bothers me :) Its worth braving it! Just a note- your coconut rice link didn’t take me to the right place :( But I found it through your recipes page- may make this on Wednesday!! What’d I do today? Worked, worked out, ran errands, a little bit of housework, cooked and now I’m getting ready to head to Josh’s basketball game

    1. ok that’s really weird…i just checked both links that are in the post and they worked for me.

and i have triple checked them b/c now i am paranoid :)

where did it take you? just email me back…

glad you found them in the recipes tab tho! but that’s not cool if they’re not working for you…always a glitch lately!

  15. Facts :-)

It’s two a.m. and I really wish I was asleep.

I’m getting up five thirty. The big girl is going to the zoo with her class to feed the animals and muck out and stuff – she didn’t want to go, I think she was grossed out by the muck part, but I like to think I convinced her with my childhood tales of shovelling pile upon pile of horse dung in exchange for riding lessons.

Sometimes – and just sometimes – I’m glad to be able to just say I’m allergic – and mean it – when I’m offered food. So much s**t out there really shouldn’t be considered food in my opinion.

I’ve had it up to somewhere well past my eyebrows with doctors and conventional medicine. And some alternative medicine too.

And I’m really proud of myself for making it all the way through spring sale without getting as much as one “bargain”, except I just realised I’ll be needing some nice-ish clothes for a work function in about a week and now I’ll probably end up buying something for the full price…

I am meeting up with a very dear friend very soon and it’s been far too long, so I’m excited, yay :-)

I’m typing with one hand and it’s taking forever – the other arm is hiding under the covers cause it’s so cold! Brrr…
