Counting My Blessings

It’s been a perfect Friday in Aruba.

Beach of aruba and ocean

Except for the 10 minutes that I was walking home from the beach and it started downpouring out of no where.  That’s island weather for you.  You never know when it’s going to start pouring out of thin air out of humid air.

Rain in Aruba from underneath awning

Be prepared to take cover under any awning, hut, or little bit of shelter at any moment.  That, or have permanently damp hair and shoes which has been the case for us this trip.

Prior to that we were at the beach.

Skylar had a grand time making sandcastle cakes.

Daughter Skylar at the beach

I can’t believe she’s four.  I feel like I was just on this beach a blink of an eye ago and pregnant with her.  Time flies.

She enjoyed a sandy apple.  Great fiber, I’m sure.

And then she rested.  She put herself in this position.  For 1.08 minutes.

For about 1.08 minutes Scott rubbed my back…

…While I gazed at this view.

Not too shabby.

I was and am counting my blessings, big time.

We came home and drank Pineapple Banana & Coconut Cream Smoothies

Ate red and yellow pepper slices

Dipped in a ranch dressing and cream cheese mixture.

Yellow bell pepper wedges

We had a few handfuls of some rice crackers and some crunchy peas because I wanted to nearly chip a tooth on those uber crunchy but oh-so-tasty little peas.

And after Scott gets done on the phone and wrapping up his business for the day, we’re off for a family walk.

Yes, I have been counting my blessings.

Questions:

What blessing, big or small, are you counting today?

What are your weekend and holiday plans?

We will be in Aruba and hopefully the weather will be nice and we can spend time at the beach since absolutely nothing will be open for about three days.

The grocery stores have been packed with everyone doing their pre-holiday food stockups.  Food hoarding has been in full force since everyone knows, stock up now or forever hold your peace.  Or hold it until at least Wednesday or thereabouts when things re-open after the holidays.

Good thing that I have plenty of chocolate desserts on hand.  No chance of running out.  Whew.

Happy Holidays!
