cheesy pizza bake on a white platter

If there’s ever a meal that everyone in the family can agree upon, it’s pizza. Warm, cheesy, gooey, and so good. Rather than just another average pizza night, I jazzed things up with this fast, easy, one-bowl pizza bake.

I love how fast and easy it is, that it’s ready and on the table in 30 minutes, and so family-friendly.

My family went to town on it and I even heard, “This is one of the best things you’ve ever made.”

Funny that it’s usually the super easy shortcut recipes that gets the highest praise and not the ones I slave over. What we didn’t eat that night was perfect for lunches the next day.

This is easy comfort food at its finest that you can pull off any day of the week, even on a Monday.

Bisquick pizza bake on a white platter

Recipe Ingredients

The ingredients list for this pepperoni pizza bake is short and simple:

  • Bisquick Mix
  • Milk (any kind)
  • Pizza sauce
  • Pepperoni
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

Note: Scroll down to the recipe card section of the post for the ingredients with amounts included and for more complete directions.

How to Make Pizza Bake

  1. Make the stir-together dough; I used Original Bisquick™ Mix. It takes about 1 minute to stir it together and it’s such a great shortcut rather than making your own pizza dough.
  2. Place the dough in a baking pan and topped with layers of pizza sauce, pepperoni, and cheese.
  3. Bake the Bisquick pizza bake until lightly golden brown, or until the biscuits are cooked and the cheese is bubbly in center.

Recipe FAQs

Can I Use Different Toppings?

Of course! You can customize this pizza bake as you see fit. If using sausage instead of pepperoni, make sure to cook it first in a skillet and drain off any excess fat. If using veggies, sauté them first until slightly softened.

Can I Prepare This in Advance?

No, this Bisquick pizza bake is best enjoyed fresh from the oven.

Can the Bisquick be substituted?

I’ve only made this recipe as written, so I can’t speak to whether another baking mix will work besides Bisquick.

Can the recipe be doubled?

This recipe makes an 8×8-inch baking dish. You can easily double the recipe and bake it in a 9×13-inch pan, if desired.

  1. This is the best recipe! I love easy ones like this. And pizza, obvi. Pinned!

(And Jordan told me her birthday cake was the best ever…it was from a box, lol.)

    1. My Friday recipe which is not 100% from-scratch got voted one of the best cookies I’ve ever made :) COOL! Never fails, I tell you!

  2. I can’t believe how easy this pizza bake is. It’s so perfect for a lazy dinner night. I love it, Averie!

  3. WOW! This is totally simple and looks like a crowd pleaser, thanks for this awesome shortcut! Pinned!

  4. I am the only one in my family that isn’t into pizza….of course. Gluten and dairy are pretty key to pizza (and yeah, I know there are substitutes for both, but they are NOT pizza, I don’t care what people will try to say.

  5. Love super easy recipes! While cooking is my passion, sometimes you just need a “break” and this pizza recipe is perfect! Thanks, Averie! Pinning…

  6. I love easy and quick dinner ideas. I occasionally make homemade pizza, but it’s kind of a pain in the butt–not hard, but time-consuming (and I think I’m the only person on the planet who doesn’t like a pizza stone … ). Your pictures make me want this for lunch right now!

  7. Oh yes please! This looks super good and super easy. I am all about easy meals right now. Finding one that would be a crowd please is like gold.

  8. I have a weakness for pizza…and to know I can make a pizza this easy might just be dangerous information!! I don’t think we would have any leftover for lunches…I’d probably have to double it to have that…we have no willpower when it comes to pizza..can’t wait to try.

  9. Easy pizza recipes for the win! Your recipe is amazing. I adore pizza and prefer it easy. That’s why I also have an easy Pizza based on a flatbread on my blog.

  10. I have always been a deep dish/thick crust pizza lover so this is screaming my name! One of my favorite locally made pizzas has a crust that is more like a biscuit than yeast dough. This looks like something to surprise Jon with this weekend!

  11. The words “easy dinner” are music to my ears on a weeknight! Between work and trying to fit in a workout, the last thing I want to do is cook for a few hours after a busy day. Thank you for this one, Averie!

  12. Such a great idea to use Bisquick! This looks incredible. No wonder you got all the compliments!
I’m with you. It’s so ironic how the easiest, simplest recipes get the most praise. Though my least favorite thing is how my kids are happiest when I give them fish sticks. I’m hoping that someday they appreciate food that isn’t processed a million times over…

    1. It’s the from-a-box stuff that tends to get the biggest, boldest, happiest reviews. Always, never fails, I understand totally :)
