So how has the first half of your weekend been? Mine’s been going great! As I have been talking about all week, I finally got to teach yoga Saturday morning and it was lovely! I love the energy and vibe and the natural high that comes from teaching and sharing yoga with others! I can’t wait to teach again! It is a little nerve wracking to teach in a new town, new studio, new students, but everything went awesomely well. Om Shanti Om!
Scott’s leaving early Sunday morning for a business trip that I had mentioned and so it’s just me and Skylar for a few days. However, I’m going to be getting together with my new gal-pal and fellow food blogger, Madeline. Yay for the internet and blogging help to establish an in-person, real-life connections!
Thanks for the supportive comments from yesterday’s post about why I went high vegan and raw.
And I;m glad you appreciated the multiple yoga pictures. Namaste, friends!
So to recap this past week’s food & recipe creations, here’s my Highlights of the Week. But in case you missed last week’s recap, here’s that one, too.
Monday there were the 5-Minute 3-Ingredient Dark Chocolate Fudge Balls
Tuesday I made Banana Bourbon Vanilla Softserve
And Pretty Purple & Red Roasted Potaotes
Wednesday I put together a Raw Vegan Sugar Snap Pea Salad with (Raw) Vegan Creamy Tahini Dressing
And I made a luscious batch of Raw Vegan Chocolate Coconut Snowballs
Thursday there was Tahini & Seasame-Almond “Cesar” Salad
With Raw Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls for Dessert
Friday I made Raw Vegan Apple Crumble for Dessert
And also put a batch of Raw Vegan Chocolate Coconut Snowballs into the Freezer for safe-keeping.
Saturday I told you all about Why I went Vegan and High Raw. And chatted it up about Yoga, too.
An Excerpt from the Post:
“So that still brings us to the question of why raw?
Well, after I eliminated gluten, dairy, & soy, I feel that raw chose me, I did not choose it. Meaning, for me, it’s just easier and simpler to eat raw foods, less minimally processed foods and in as close to their natural state as possible…”
Today I’ve got a Fresh Kale Salad with Steamed Cauli & Sugar Snap Peas. Dressed with Homemade Vegan Sweet & Tangy Slaw Dressing
And for Dessert, I took those Raw Vegan Chocolate Coconut Snowballs that I just mentioned out of the freezer. Chocolate Lovin’ at it’s finest.
Yoga Today is Sirasana (Headstand)

At the top of the post I talked about making an online/blogging connection with a fellow food blogger (Madeline) and then meeting up in real life. Tell me if you’ve had any blogger meetups! How did you discover that you lived in the same city or were going to be near the person you met up with? I have to say, I had been in Phoenix 2 months til I even put it together that Madeline and I both lived here and now I wonder if there’s anyone else in the area I haven’t met yet. Anne, Kristen, Bekah if you head north, holler! Anyone else in the AZ area? But tell me about your meetups or if you haven’t had one, who would your “dream-date” blogger meetup be with? Why?
Stay Tuned For Raw Vegan Homemade 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cups, as in Reese’s PB Cups…
What a fun post Averie! It's always an accomplishment to have other's make your original dishes. They all are such winners! :)
I have a few recipes on my own blog that I created myself, and I really am proud of them! It takes a true passion for food to be able to create a unique recipe. Even some simple yogurt mixes or cereal/seed/nut mixes that I've created have made me pretty darn proud!

Oh my God I am drooling …I must make those PB Cups…and just about everything else – I hope they taste as good as they look! Especially those turtles :)
What a fun post! I tried your chocolate chia pudding, but didn't send it in:) Couldn't get used to the texture though. YOu have some fabulous recipes!
HaHa! When I got married, I didn't know how to cook at all! Boy, I have come a long way:)
STELLLLLAR tribute post!!
And yes, you SHOULD be proud – rock it out :)
What a fun idea for a post! Goes to show how jammin your recipes are ;) I still can't get over how good those chocolate snowballs look mmmmm. I am proud that despite how busy I get, I always find time to make a healthy and delicious meal that fits the needs of me (veggie friendly) and Josh (meat lover :)).
Oh averie! what a great post!
you seriously have inspired SO many bloggers :D
I cant wait to make more of your recipes <3

Oh my gosh where I have been? Me with no computer=missing out on your goodness! Wow! nd sriously, congrats on getting the job!!
Hmm.. I'm the same way about how far I've come in cooking. I use to overcomplicate "EasyMac".. and I guess the concept was way too simple for me to accept. Maybe that's a good thing lol.
Everything looks so yummy!
I want one of each thing please : ) Congrats on the yoga job, sure wish we lived closer so we could go…you are going to be an awesome teacher!! I am already jealous of your students because they have you.
your blog is incredible and so are you! you are such an inspirational and positive person, no doubt you will go far.
keep being the full of life funky girl that you are! you are inspiring so many- myself included!good luck with your yoga job, i would attend if i lived closer! :P

In college, I started a fire in the oven while making a frozen pizza because I thought the cardboard on the bottom was a disposable pan! Now, I make my own bread, almond milk,… You name it, I will try to make it! It sounds like we were quite similar in the beginning!
I'm with Hayley- I sense a cookbook coming on :-)
When I did Atkins a few yrs ago, I became UNSCARED of cooking veggies- I sauteed ANYTHING and everything in cooking spray and that was the beginning of my days as a cook. Prior to that I had no idea what to do.
Averie you are so incredible – I know this is going to sound so lame and cheesy but you are a gift to the food blogging community. Look at all the incredible recipes you've shared with so many of us! I hate to say it, but you should really keep some of these a secret and write a book!! Granted that would mean the blogging community couldn't get them for free but I'm just thinking of you. I need to save all these recipes NOW!! Plus I still need to pick up some nooch. I can't believe there are so many incredible desserts to make. I HAVE to try them out while family is here for the holidays.
You're incredible!!!
I am NEVER making those darn "reeses" again! I ate both tonight! Addictive little buggers! You are absolutely amazing!!!! I have stuff for the Turtles but since I lack self control I can't make those for a while.
Being primarily vegan you have to cook and I'm pretty proud of my workout and eating accomplishments. I have come so far in a year.
LOVE this post and look at all the great recipes bloggers have made from YOU! this must make so feel so great and what an inspiration!
I am so proud that I cook as well, I love looking in my fridge and putting together recipes, flavors, textures and enjoying it to the fullest. I will never be the type of person to enjoy take out over home cooked meals!!
I am certainly making those banana nut vegan muffins they look soo great!
