So how has the first half of your weekend been?  Mine’s been going great!  As I have been talking about all week, I finally got to teach yoga Saturday morning and it was lovely!  I love the energy and vibe and the natural high that comes from teaching and sharing yoga with others!  I can’t wait to teach again! It is a little nerve wracking to teach in a new town, new studio, new students, but everything went awesomely well.  Om Shanti Om!

Scott’s leaving early Sunday morning for a business trip that I had mentioned and so it’s just me and Skylar for a few days.  However, I’m going to be getting together with my new gal-pal and fellow food blogger, MadelineYay for the internet and blogging help to establish an in-person, real-life connections!

Thanks for the supportive comments from yesterday’s post about why I went high vegan and raw.

Saturday I told you all about Why I went Vegan and High Raw.  And chatted it up about Yoga, too.
An Excerpt from the Post:
“So that still brings us to the question of why raw?
Well, after I eliminated gluten, dairy, & soy, I feel that raw chose me, I did not choose it.  Meaning, for me, it’s just easier and simpler to eat raw foods, less minimally processed foods and in as close to their natural state as possible…”

Today I’ve got a Fresh Kale Salad with Steamed Cauli & Sugar Snap PeasDressed with Homemade Vegan Sweet & Tangy Slaw Dressing

At the top of the post I talked about making an online/blogging connection with a fellow food blogger (Madeline) and then meeting up in real life.  Tell me if you’ve had any blogger meetups!  How did you discover that you lived in the same city or were going to be near the person you met up with?  I have to say, I had been in Phoenix 2 months til I even put it together that Madeline and I both lived here and now I wonder if there’s anyone else in the area I haven’t met yet.  Anne, Kristen, Bekah if you head north, holler!  Anyone else in the AZ area?  But tell me about your meetups or if you haven’t had one, who would your “dream-date” blogger meetup be with? Why?

  3. Oh Averie!
I love that post! Especially the part where you said how far you've come in the last 10 years, that's amazing!
I can't wait for more recipes to come so I can make all of them!
    XO!

  4. Averie, you are my allergy girl! I can’t believe we have the same ones!! And Garlic!? I didn’t know I could even be allergic to garlic…..I don’t care for it, it doesn’t cause my hives, but I think my skin gets irritated from it!

I would love to chat more to you about all of this, it is surprisingly so interesting to me that my body knows what it wants and doesn’t want! Crazy huh?? I do crave what I can’t have, ie. White bread…..crave it and can’t eat it!

Can I email you to chat more??

PS. Next time I make an “Averie Recipe” I will send you a shot!!

    Have a great day, Love!

  5. Wow! Everyone is doing a great job. The food all looks fantastic! I wish I could try it all.

Im most proud of the fact that I cook too! I rarely eat out and prefer to home make everything. It puts a smile on my face when I can devour something I put some time and effort into=)

  6. wow you put a ridiculously awesome amount of work into this post with everyone's pictures thaaat's how i know your food and creations are off the hook because i know you put THAT much work into them :)

you're awesome girl! can't wait to hear more about the job!

  7. Woohoo I can comment again! :)

I am going to try the peanut butter cups this weekend, DEFINITELY. My husband has a bit of a sweet tooth but is also a health nut. If I tell him these are 'raw and healthy,' he will eat them all so I don't. :)

    You're awesome, girl!!!

  8. Holy poop, a drug test?! I'm quite surprised that's required. But congrats on the job!!

And thank you so much for posting the link to my version of your Breakfast Cookie. There are soooooOooo many of your recipes that I want to try. You really truly should write a book.

Thanks for the continuing source of inspiration.

  9. First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on getting the yoga position! As I've said before, I would LOVE to take a class with you. One day…

Love this tribute post. There are still so many things to try… and I still have so much kale chip dressing left!

  10. so happy your recipes are becoming such a HIT! Love it :D They all look great…my chia pudding failed, but I'll play around more soon.

I am proud that I just 'cook' now- the most successful recipe is my lara cakes, but I don't think anyone has made them :( I like them though!

  11. What a great post – you're famous. :)

I really want to try your peanut butter cups. They all look so good.

I love cooking as well. Growing up my mom and I always baked together, but after college, I learned there was so much more in the kitchen to make other than cookies. Before that, I thought all veggies came from a can. ;)

  12. Loved this post! And look at all your reader's creations! Awesome! Averie is inspiring kitchens all over the world :)

We made your vegan reese's cups, but I subbed almond butter and added chia and flax. That recipe is so easy and so GOOD! Thank you for sharing! I blogged it and mentioned my Averie-inspiration :)

Can't wait to see your kitch tour!

Thanks for all you do for us here in bloggy land. Have a lovely day!

    xo Sheri
