Hitting the Road, Recent Posts, Speeding, Unpacking, A Quiz

Hi Friends!  Well, today is Move Day!  It’s been a whirlwind, obviously, when three people are putting every single article you own into a truck knowing we will not be coming back if we forgot anything.  Our internet is about to be pulled down after I click Publish.  And shortly, I am going to get in the car and drive across the desert with Skylar and Scott is driving the U-Haul with the other car trailered behind it.  There is currently a 3-man moving crew on their way here since the first company’s truck broke down and this morning I had to call a new company.   Chaos Much?! I am a “professional” mover, for better or worse, I have lots of practice at this.  Just part of the process.

After I get on the road, provided the Border Control Checkpoints aren’t backed up and Immigration leaves us alone, we should be able to keep up triple digit speeds across the desert and make it home in less than 6 hours.  I am hoping for 5 hours and change depending on how many Potty Stops with our Pink Princess Potty in hand that we have to make.  It is so hot here, too.  Oppressive and I cannot wait to smell the ocean air.  Our new place is less than 5 miles from the beach.  Thank god.

Oh and yesterday’s post on Salad Dressings and My Realizations and Lessons Learned in Arizona…not sure why it had a vertical white line going down the screen and why the links weren’t working.  Just that post, none of my others.  Blogger glitch, no doubt.  I was told they were working on things on their side.  Annoying and yet another reason to switch to Wordpress but I haven’t the energy to even contemplate that one!

Thanks for letting me know the White Line from my Test Post was not there like it was in yesterday’s postGood!

Questions
1. Do you drive the speed limit?  Do you consider yourself a safe and good driver?
I have a horrible lead foot and when I was 16, I had 3 tickets in the first few months of getting my license and it was suspended.  Sadly, they weren’t even “fast” violations.  Think 45mph in a 35, 40 in a 30, and 65mph in a 50.  I wasn’t going all that “fast”, just faster than I was supposed to be.  And I didn’t know how to avoid tickets by constantly checking the rear view for cops.  Watch, now that I am posting this, I’ll get pulled over today.  Knock on wood, I don’t!

I do speed, but in California, the posted limit is 75 mph and that means an easy 85-90 for most.  On wide open desert roads, I like to go as fast as I can.  However, I am the first to stop for pedestrians, yield to others in parking lots, I’ve never been in or caused an accident other than being rear-ended.  All in all, even though I drive fast, I am consider myself to be a safe driver and a good driver.   What about your driving habits?  Do you talk on the phone while driving?  Use a headset?  Text while driving?

2. If your a blogger, what’s the longest you’ve ever not posted on your blog?  By choice or by circumstance?
If I didn’t have pre-scheduled posts, this would be the longest Ive been away, because I am a daily poster.

3. When you move into a new place, do you unpack slowly or right away?
I have to unpack everything as soon as humanly possible.  In fact, I will probably be awake til the wee hours many days until everything is unpacked and put away.  I cannot stand clutter and I know I will just want all those boxes removed from my sight!  Getting unpacked, organized, and everything in order just needs to happen pronto or I can’t really relax and get on with everything else in life.
Do you take your time unpacking or get it all done asap?

4. The Quiz.  Feel Free to Copy and Paste it Into the Comment Field and type in your answers or re-post on your blog.  Can’t wait to hear more about you!

5. Are you cool as a cucumber and can you think on your feet when chaos erupts or things don’t go as planned?
I’m fairly cool and what I lack in coolness, I make up for in think-on-my-feet and come up with Plan B, pronto.
