TGIF! Here’s my weekly roundup of lovely food and posts I saw this week in the ‘sphere.
I’ve been watching food, not the Royal Wedding. I think I’m the only person who hasn’t been watching it, but reading blogs has been akin to Wedding Cliff’s Notes. I can catch up on the whole thing just by reading blogs and in 10 minutes not hours. Perfect for me.
Enjoy the food! Or the wedding.
Holly’s Chocolate PB Chip Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Buttercream
And here’s my recipe for Rum Cake Donut Holes (No Bake, Vegan, GF)
Amanda’s Crispy Southwestern Wontons
Emily’s Strawberry Lemonade Thumbprints
Jenny’s Creamy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Tart
Joy the Baker’s Carrot Apple Ginger Soup
Brown Eyed Bakers Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream
Great Reads of the Week:
Angela’s Grain of Salt Post addressing reader questions about body-image, weight, and eating topics. Comprehensive, beautiful.
Gena’s post on Eating Disorder “Types” in rebuttal to a Kevin Gianni article
Nicole of La Buena Vida’s photography of Tulum
So many posts, so many blogs, so many great recipes!
There is never enough time to read it all, get to it all, comment on it all, or make it all (unless you are feeding a football team) but the blogosphere is so inspiring.
Thanks for chiming in on my last post about At Home Workouts: DVDs and Podcasts and whether it’s a yay or nay for you, and why. Lots of great comments and split thoughts on it all. Some of you really love DVDs and workouts you can download and it was fun to hear your favorites and what workouts you’re loving lately.
Also loved your workout clothing loves. I always like hearing what everyone’s go-to apparel is. I hate breaking the bank on workout clothes and refuse to do it! No $50 sports bras and I only own one pair of $100 Lululemon pants. Nice, but I will never pay that kind of money again for one pair of pants. I liked hearing what you wear to get your sweat on with.
Questions:
1. What’s on your agenda for the weekend?
I am working, workout out, working around the house, working in the kitchen. Did you catch a them there? But it’s all good. Hard work never hurt anyone.
2. Have you been watching the Royal Wedding Coverage?
No, and I don’t really care! Gasp, I know. What can I say, I love the Kardashians and Real Housewives (E! and Bravo are where it’s at for me and my DVR) and I read blogs, and after that, I have no time for extra tv watching.
3. Have you seen any recipe posts or food posts this week or recently that inspired you or have you made anything lately that you’re especially proud of?
This week, I am proud of my Chocolate Coconut Kale Chips…
…and my Chocolate Coconut Cashew Butter
…but I am inspired by everyone else’s food and recipes, daily!
thank you for the lovely shoutout friend – youre the best!!
OMG – cilantro lime rice!!! I am heading over to that site now!!!
I didn’t watch the wedding, nor see any coverage, but now I kind of wish I did watch it.
Well I had a relaxing weekend planned, but it looks like I’ll be headed to Urgent Care instead. I think I have some sort of infection in my throat and I would really like it to stop hurting me!
I have only seen things about the Royal Wedding in the blogosphere. I just can’t muster any interest in the wedding of two people I don’t know. I just don’t care!
You’re so right, so many blogs, so little time. The things people come up with are amazing!
I didn’t watch either. Don’t care.
I’m exactly like you, I don’t care about the wedding. It’s fun to look at some pictures but not worth getting up at 4 or 5 AM for. I also rather read blogs and watch Real Housewives: new york and OC (they should make a SD one, La jolla?) and Bethenny Ever After. It’s a nice break from the craziness of college!
they totally need a SD one! I want to be on it! Except I am not in their league$$…haha. But I would love to be a Housewife..fun!
On my way back to San Diego from Boston as we “speak.” Hope the weather has improved? :)
I didn’t watch the Royal Wedding either….just clips here and there on TV.
Look at all that food porn. Wow! I agree…so many awesome blogs, so little time.
yes it’s totally gorgeous here!!! welcome home a little early :)
didn’t watch the wedding, but heard so much just from facebook and blogs!!! :)
All of the recipes really are inspiring and so drool worthy!
I didn’t watch the wedding either, but I don’t have cable so I couldn’t
Sunday I’m running a half marathon so we’ll see how that goes! :)
Wow.. there are so many choices! I love the fruit stir fry… and the ice cream looks delicious too… and the ketchup… Great choices this week, Averie!
That PB ice cream looks INSANEEEEE..love.
Well, as soon as i get myself a good food processor I’m making that cashew butter :P that looks soooo good !
Love these posts Averie! You definitely know how to pick the winners!
Haha, I’m with you on the Royal Wedding… honestly, I couldn’t care less either. I didn’t even catch a recap and have to plans to! I can see where people would get caught up in it, but I just felt like I had more going on and better things to do than watch their wedding!
I want every morsel of chocolate in this post and I want it all on top of that PB cup ice cream. :D
Looks like it was peanut butter and chocolate week around the blogosphere :)
thanks for the recipe round-up, averie! there is SO MUCH CHOICE! the ENTIRE NFL could be fed with all the awesome recipes out there! i didn’t feed a team, but i DID supply cookies for a class of firefighting students this week!
i watched the wedding til i went to work – caught the ceremony but missed the kiss! i loved seeing the *fashion show* the best, to be honest. kate was gorgeous.
have a great evening!
but i DID supply cookies for a class of firefighting students this week! = yes, i could use one of those given the sugarfest around here :)
