Questions:
What’s your favorite nut butter(s) of all time? Type and brand?
I know this is asking a lot of you nut butter freaks food bloggers and blog readers.
Mine are:
1. Sunflower Seed Butter/Trader Joe’s
This is my #1 go-to nut butter of all time. There are other brands of sunflower seed butter but based on price, taste, availability, I love TJ’s sunflower seed butter.
2. Peanut Butter:
Mainstream: Jif Naturals or Skippy Naturals (I always cook with these or use these in recipes. I save my specialty nut butters for just eating plain.)
Specialty: Naturally Nutty Butter Toffee Peanut Butter
Flavored/Chocolate: PB & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams
I have never been a huge fan of Almond Butter. It’s fine, but it will never ever compare to or replace SFSB or PB for me.
Same with cashew butter, hemp seed butter, etc. They are fine and fun for a change, but I love SFSB and PB more!
See This Post for a stash of some of my nut butters.
3. Cookie Butter. Also known as Speculoos Spread

What’s your favorite nut butter?
I love all nut butters, but my heart truly belongs to peanut butter! A big spoonful right out of the jar is the best!
While everything looks absolutely phenomenal – I think I’ll have to tackle that peanut butter banana cake first ;)
I love Mighty Maple! I may or may not have finished my sister’s jar on her while she was away :X
And I am a sunflower seed butter fiend – definitely my favorite. Which is sort of ironic, because I basically NEVER use it in the a.m. or when it would otherwise get “blog time.” Little does everyone know I douse my cereal in it every night :P
preblogging about my mail package right now. thank you…so much :)
yum I LOVE pb and would love to try the dark chocolate dreams mmmm!
Awesome PB score, I’ve love to try some of those flavors! Especially the cinnamon. Oh yum, Vegan White Chocolate Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cups look fabulous. So many great recipes here, wow!
1. Nope, never tried that brand.
2. Sunflower Seed butter, Cashew Butter and Tahini.
3. I love just eating it out of the jar. :-) Or in dessert recipes.
Trader Joe’s Sunflower Seed Butter is my nut butter of choice. The taste beats out PB, almond butter, cashew butter….I’m not counting coconut butter since that’s not really in the same category. Just gotta remember that when cooking with it, it turns things a weird shade of green!
yes coconut butter is in its own category.
and great minds think alike, tj’s SFSB.
I absolutely love Barney Butter – a peanut butter lovers dream made with almonds. Chunky style – please! It’s super hard to find though. Whole Foods sells it but only in half size jars. I need to branch out and try other ones too! That cinnamon raisin swirl sounds decadent. :)
yes I have had BB and if you love almond butter, BB is totally perfect.
The spicy PB by PB & Co is quite good. I’ve had it.
My favorite seed butter is the same as yours–the TJ sunflower seed butter. LOVE that stuff. It doesn’t last long at my place ;-)
I just used nut butter in a stew made in the slow cooker. This one, in fact, which I gave a North African flair:
uhh, ive never even heard of ‘the heat is on’!!! by george, they’ve done it again.
YUM! love peanut butters but to be honest the PB+Co’s are a bit sweet for my liking…don’t get me wrong they are AMAZING in recipes, but if I were to have a snack of apple and pb…I like the teddie stuff that just tastes like straight up peanuts, ya know?
if i were to make some o fyour recipes…well then bring on the DCD!
sweet stuff is my middle name :)
I LOVE pb and co peanut butter. I’ve even been to their restaurant in nyc! SO JEALOUS of your loot!
Ive wanted to go to their restaurant big time. Had no idea you went!
Okay-I. am. drooling. Time to go prepare dinner and try not to stick my fingers in the peanut butter jar. Oh, who am I kidding? I’ll try to only do it once. :-)
LOL…only once!
I absolutly love their Dark Chocalate dream peanut butter for making cookies. I am looking forward to trying the Mighty Maple, may even do the nut clusters. Thanks
I am jealous of that “the heat is on” butter! never heard of it but it’s making my mouth water! you’ll have to let us know how it is!
Ah, your so lucky! My fave nut butter is Maranatha Almond butter!! But I love pretty much any nut butter! :)
I also really like making my own sunflower seed butter because of the smell when you toast the sunflower seeds- its like a thousand bakeries converge in the kitchen… mmmm…
I have never made my own SFSB b/c Tj’s is so reasonable and i love it AND b/c i have heard horror stories trying to make SFSB…so i never have. But i should try, huh!
