Hi Bloggies! I hope your week has moved at a fast pace because now we’re just one day away from the weekend! Scott got home from his business trip and so that makes me happy! Today I went to the gym, did some grocery shopping, and watched and heard Skylar sing and dance.
She knows the words to Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA. Scott lets her watch videos on his computer while he’s multi-tasking with her while I’m cooking or doing other things and her brain is like a steel trap: It remembers everything! Including song lyrics.
She walks around her room belting it out. Over and over. Here she is in action.
Belting out, “Oh, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, It’s a Party in the USA….”.
Honestly, this is All Her. I am not a Stage Mother or prodding her along. When I was a kid I loved playing dress up and putting on skits with my friends, and yes, we gave “concerts” and recitals for anyone who would listen to us, but she seems so into it! Remember this post when I asked about pageants and dance classes. I really do need to find an outlet for her to explore this. She has a passion for it!
I did something that I have been meaning to do for oh, about a year. I Updated my Recipes Tab. For all of you who have wanted this, Enjoy. It only took me 5 minutes. Kidding. It took me hours and hours but for you, my readers, anything. I hope you all are happy about this! CLICK HERE to Check out the NEWLY UPDATED RECIPES TAB!
From Yesterday….
I am so happy so many of you are on the same page with me on the Overturning of Prop 8!
Anna said it best in the comments:
Me in the Post: “Seems so simple and a basic human right to me.”
Anna: “Yep. You’d think, right? It’s amazing how many people are so scared of something that, to me, seems so basic and automatic. Sigh. I really think that in twenty years, our children will look at the gay marriage issue in the same way that we view things like segregation and bans on mixed race marriages– archaic and ridiculous. At least, that’s what I hope.”
Amen.
Last night in my neighborhood there was so much celebrating and partying going on. Gay pandemonium. And helicopters and news crews everywhere. It’s so fun to live in such an eclectic, diverse, and gay, area and be a part of this monumental moment in history. Truly living it, feeling it, being a part of all this energy and change that’s going on right outside my window!
As for breaking rules, oh you all are such daredevils. Jaywalking, Ilana. Oh you bad, bad girl. I think that my selling kombucha and distributing some bootlegged brew is simply helping out the greater good and humanity.
I mean, it’s a fermented beverage with natural probiotics and all. Probiotics do the body good! More people need their probiotics. See, like my logic? I can always explain away any rule breaks. haha! Most of you though seem pretty, ummm, tame. I’m not. I just don’t blog about that. haha!
Glad to hear the Raw Crunch Bars caught your eye. Yes, the are really good!

Questions
1. Do you have memories from your childhood of putting on any skits, singing and dancing, of putting on shows or recitals for your parents, your siblings, or anyone who would watch?
I do! I grew up without cable tv until I was 10 years old, it snowed 6 months a year and playing outside wasn’t always an option, there was no Nintendo until I was in 8th grade, basically it was get creative in the basement putting on talent shows, recitals, lip sync contests, you name it, I did it.
Did you do any shows like that?
2. What did you do to pass the time when you were a kid? You know, when your mother told you to “Go Play” and get out of her hair, what did you do?
3. Any weekend fun plans? My Job & New Realities
I am working and spending time with Scott and Skylar. I have a part time job to make extra money a few days each week. It’s nothing special but every little bit helps and between just life in general, random car repairs that fell out of the sky from a $4000 black thunder cloud into our lap, you name it, it helps to have some extra cashola coming in.
That said, life is different now. I am a mom, wife, homemaker, worker, blogger, and more. In that order. If I can’t comment on everyone’s blogs that I used to, please know I still read the same amount of blogs on my Reader, but I am far more efficient when I don’t click off and comment. Janetha has mentioned this many times. I read in stealth. Hope you all understand that life comes first, blog stuff way second.
I am still going to post the same, nothing is going to change on my blog. *every time I have ever mentioned cutting back on commenting, people write to me freaked out that I am changing my blog…no, I’m not* I just have to cut back a bit on my commenting ’round the sphere. I have to take care of the business ’round here. We all get that, right. Thought so. Thanks, guys for being awesome friends and readers!
How do you balance your work, your life, your family and friends and loved ones, and blogging?
4. Do you like it when a Blog has a Recipes Tab? Or what features/gadgets/widgets do you like on other blogs?
I personally use the Search Box on blogs if they have it. Mine is on the upper right hand side of the screen and I use my own search box on my own blog to find things all the time. Most bloggers aren’t really too diligent about keeping their Recipes Tabs up to date, so I use the Search Box more often, but sometimes searching isn’t perfect, either.
How do you navigate around other people’s sites or are there features on blogs that when that blog has that feature/widget/item, you’re like sweet! What are they? I need to install them!
